A new trailer for Diora Baird‘s upcoming movie Quit which premiered at Newport Beach International Film Festival on April 24th has been released which you can view above.  I’ve also added HD screencatures which you can view by clicking on the previews below.

A couple from Hollywood goes away to the scenic desert of Joshua Tree to quit smoking. With all emotions unmasked, they cheat, lie and struggle valiantly to overcome their enslavement. As we share the pain and torture the couple put themselves through in the name of love and pleasure, we learn that smoking is a methaphor for their addictive relationship. The extreme passion they show through sex and fighting is really a measure of their love for each other. Whether they like it or not, they cannot escape destiny or the temptations that lead them there.

You may have noticed that the film ‘Blood Out’ has been removed from Diora Baird’s IMDB profile. According she won’t be in the film any more. She revealed on twitter that the reason for her departure is due to “schedule conflicts with Riddle“. She has now been replaced by 90210 star Annalynne Mccord.

It such a big shame since ‘Blood Out’ looked really promising, hopefully something better will come up soon.

Filming continued this week in South Fayette on “Riddle,” starring Val Kilmer, the first collaboration of Pittsburgh-area natives Brian and John Hartman and their friend Nick Mross.

“Pretty much everyone on this crew is from Pittsburgh,” said crew member Curtis Abbot, an Ohio native who now lives here.

No release date is set, but Brian Hartman said a major distributor is on board. Tuesday marked the 14th of 21 scheduled days of filming, which began in Brownsville.

“We spent about six months writing it,” Hartman said. “It took four to five months to plan the whole thing out.”

The plot involves a woman (Elizabeth Harnois) who comes home from college three years after her brother is kidnapped — and sees someone wearing some of her brother’s clothing.

She’s drawn to a town named Riddle, which Brian Hartman described as a “closed-down town with a lot of mystery to it.”

The movie also stars William Sadler and Diora Baird.

Yesterday, much of the shooting centered on an old barn, supposedly home to a survivalist. A python skin and a live squirrel are among the “extras.”

The rain presented some issues, but the crew navigated around it.

“It’s just making it a little muddy,” said location man Steve Hough of Nevillewood.

The movie, including editing, is scheduled to be completed in October. Hartman said it could be released in summer 2011.

Hartman said his team also is working on another film in the same genre as “Riddle.”

It’s turning out to be a bright summer considering all the stars headed this way. The latest group of actors to grace the capital city include Val Kilmer, Luke Goss, Vinnie Jones and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who will be in Baton Rouge shooting Blood Out for the next few weeks.

Filming begins Monday, May 10, according to director Jason Hewitt, whose Films in Motion is based in Baton Rouge.

“We are excited about shooting here,” Hewitt said. “It means I can sleep in my own bed … but seriously … Baton Rouge is a very film-friendly place and we couldn’t be happier with help from the city, the police department and the neighborhoods we’ll be in.”

Hewitt said the movie will include a big chase scene filmed downtown, with more scenes filmed near the Garden District.

The movie’s plot is thick with intrigue, action and suspense.

Blood Out is the story of proverbial good cop Michael (Goss) who goes undercover in the violent gang world to seek justice for his younger brother, David, who was murdered by members of his own gang. David had been trying to escape their world of crime so he could marry the beautiful Anya (Diora Baird). David was killed as a way of enforcing the gang’s mantra: “blood out.”

Along the way, Michael encounters a human trafficking ring and a villanous international gang leader named Arturo (Kilmer).

Eventually, he is forced into a battle between good and evil, Hewitt said.

If you weren’t already stoked for Adam Gierasch’s Night of the Demons remake, we’re pretty damn confident you will be after seeing these new slices of demonic mayhem!

Cinematographer Yaron Levy just updated his official site with a horror reel that shows off tons of footage from the forthcoming remake. You can dig on it below.

Night of the Demons stars Diora Baird, Shannon Elizabeth, Monica Keena, Bobbi Sue Luther, Jonathan Beach, Michael Copon, Tiffany Shepis, and Edward Furlong. Look for it in theatres on September 23rd.

Synopsis
“Angela Feld is throwing the Halloween party to end all Halloween parties at the infamous Broussard Mansion in New Orleans, where dark events transpired almost a century ago. But when the packed party gets busted by the police, Angela and her friends Maddie, Lily, Suzanne, Colin, Dex, and Jason are the only ones left behind. Soon Colin and Angela make a grisly discovery in the basement, and inexplicable events start to take place. With the mansion gates mysteriously locked, the seven find themselves trapped for the night … and soon they’re fighting ancient demons for their very souls.”

n1gvpxfudw3w30qi9irdmcr0Dread caught up with director Adam Gierasch yesterday in an effort to ascertain the current plans for his feature Night of the Demons, a flick that initially was to have received a theatrical release last October via Seven Arts Distribution. Revealed the director, who co-wrote with Jace Anderson his remake of director Kevin Tenney’s 1988 feature of the same name, “Night of the Demons is aiming for a decently-wide release on September 23, 2010.” In addition, he provided us with some new exclusive production stills!

Gierasch was coy about mentioning the distributor of his redux, which stars Diora Baird, Shannon Elizabeth, Monica Keena, Bobbi Sue Luther, Jonathan Beach, Michael Copon, Tiffany Shepis, and Edward Furlong, although he was transparent in regard to his additional (and rather exciting) plans for the release of Night of the Demons.

“Hopefully we’ll be able to do some concerts to celebrate the release,” said Geirasch, whose directorial debut was the 2008 film Autopsy. “We are definitely going to do (one) in L.A., and maybe New York, and I can’t guarantee it, but I hope New Orleans because that is where the movie takes place and where we shot it.”

Appearing on the soundtrack are “45 Grave, who did our theme song,” revealed the filmmaker, “and Type O Negative, TSOL, Pscyhocharger, Goatwhore, Wednesday 13, and Dead By Day. The soundtrack is awesome, and it’s all the way through the whole movie, too. We did fight scenes to punk-rock songs, demon attacks to punk-rock songs – I describe it as ‘party horror’.”

As for his feelings on the completed film, “I love it. It’s got punk-rock and big-breasted chicks being chased by demons – what more do you want? It’s everything that makes life worth living. I think it’s just super fun.”

Dread queried the filmmaker as to what’s next on his plate, and while we are sworn to secrecy until a later date regarding a slew of simmering genre projects he and Anderson are cooking up, the filmmaker did allow that he’s finishing up a film he directed from a genre script the pair co-wrote.

“I will say,” teased Gierasch, who didn’t reveal the title (although a quick Google search may or may not provide such), “that it’s a psychological drama slash ghost story and also that I believe it will have a limited release in August or September.”
